We at PSD believe in forthrightness to our customers which is, above all else, the overriding reason for these disclaimers.

Again, if you live in high density or extreme wildfire residential areas subject to extreme foehn winds (Santa Ana type) you should not Stay and Defend. We have decided that US-PSD’s recommended “Stay and Defend” methodologies must only be used by homeowners living in developments and rural settings that allow for greater distances between homes. This distance varies with all the normal factors that effect wildland fire behavior and each case must be thoroughly evaluated by professional Wildland Fire Behavior experts. This distance is what we call a “space barrier” which in normal situations does not allow the radiant heat from one home to endanger the neighbor’s home. We are continuing our in depth and unbiased evaluation of these high density residential developments and are currently working with several companies and new developments for solutions to reduce this threat. (See Structure Density).
